‘Thousandfold’ is a collaborative installation built with the audience of the Academy of Fine Arts of Helsinki’s BFA Show 2022. Water-based woodcut monoprints were laser cut to ready templates made available to be folded into paper stones to interact with this cairn.
It is an invitation in taking a moment to think outside ourselves, to consider personal actions within a bigger picture that acknowledges others as sentient actors of a world we share with them, and they with us.
Tokens of humbleness to celebrate our respective existences, what is owed to others, to return significance to individual doings, and let beauty emerge a chaos of independent trajectories.
A common effort to confront the past in our present and the potentiality held within to enable the best possible actions. A sensitivity to bind us together and provide fertile and solid ground to foster compassion and harmony in diversity.
